Kharisma McIlwaine is a member of The CW Crew along with Christian Ramirez-Coll, Justin Dugan, and Ashley Harder. Philadelphia native McIlwaine is a 2006 graduate of Cabrini College. Although she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, her passion for the arts played a major role in her college career. She had leading roles in five musicals, was a member of The Cabrini Dance Team and participated in Chorus. McIlwaine also hosted a radio show for the college radio station 89.1 The Burn. Recently, McIlwaine worked at the Five Spot as a host during their signature Open Mike Night. Whether she is greeting a crowd or introducing an unknown artist, McIlwaine loves being on stage and interacting with the community. In addition to her parents and grandparents, McIlwaine considers Oprah Winfrey as one of her role models. "Oprah went from a television host to an icon, always using her status to assist others," says McIlwaine. When she is not writing music, McIlwaine teaches school-aged children how to play the piano. McIlwaine attended high school at Friends Select School. While in school she played soccer, basketball, and softball and sang with the choir. McIlwaine currently resides in West Philadelphia. Watch Kharisma sing at The Penn's Landing Free Friday Night Concert Series!
